I’m so lucky that each year my wonderful client has be photograph her children’s pictures for their birthday.  We’ve had balloons, mud puddles, more balloons, umbrellas and once even ventured into a graveyard.  This year Annie turned eight (I seriously cannot believe it) and Suzy said, it’s roller-skates, she loves them and would be in them all the time if she didn’t have a broken leg”  WTH!!! Yep you heard right!  The case came off last week and Annie was cleared for her birthday portrait session and the fun children’s pictures just keep on coming.

How to Decide on A Portrait Theme.

Parents, well lets make that moms, think and stress over the perfect outfit for portraits.  Will it wrinkle, will it clash with your sister, will it match my decor when it’s on the wall, these are all legitimate concerns, and Holubek Photography loves to help with ideas for fun children’s pictures.  We start off learning about their personality.  Personalities play a very important role in outfit selection.  For fun themed professional portraits we love to go all out and add the fun accessories for that added Wow factor. It’s also fun to let picture day revolve around whatever they are into at the time, thus, roller-skates.

Location for Fun Children’s Pictures.

It almost goes with out saying that the location needs to go with the theme.  For Annie’s roller-skates, we knew we wanted an urban feel, and therefore drove to an old abandoned mill with cement and vintage brickwork.  For Jake’s mud puddle portrait, Suzy and I did a spur of the moment, after a huge rain picture, however you could make your own puddles with a hose and flat back yard. The graveyard was early spring and we were in a secluded area that was perfect for pastel balloons and a hippie or fairy look.

Fun children’s pictures can bring a lifetime of  special memories and portraits that you and your child will cherish for years.  For more information, please contact Karen Holubek in Greenwood SC.
